Antique Victorian 14k Gold Sardinia Coral Earrings
Exquisite pair of antique Victorian earrings in solid 14k Yellow Gold with large Sardinia Coral drops. These are for pierced ears and date from the 1800s.
The overall length is approximately 1 3/4". They have a very well designed french hook that when opened will not allow for the drops to come out. I believe these to actually be French or perhaps made in England. They are marked 585, the European designation for 14k Gold.
Coral drops are beautiful, true Coral color although it may appear a bit too bright in some monitors. It is a lovely deep Apricot shade.
Earrings are in good condition. One drop, however, has a split on the gold cap and a little opening on the hollow bead at the top. It is not obvious when worn but you can see in the pictures as I made sure of that. This way, you will not be disappointed when they arrive. I think you will actually be delighted. It can probably be repaired by a skilled goldsmith if desired. It is such a tiny issue when actually worn and on items of this age (maybe 150 years old) it is not uncommon. They are gorgeous and quite scarce these days. Price reflects this small flaw. All else in excellent condition.
