Antique Victorian Large Hair Locket Oval Shaped

Beautiful Victorian Period antique large oval hair locket with hand carved stone Cameo cover. It measures over 1 1/2" tall not including the loop or the bail, by 1" wide and 9/16" thick at the center of the cameo.

Locket is in excellent condition. Room for 2 images or 2 locks of hair due to the depth, on eon each side.Original glass and bezel frames included. As found fancy paper backing in good condition also.

The only issue is a small area on the side of the bail where there is loss of plating. It is not obvious when worn. The beautiful large fancy bail measures 1/2".

Reverse side has initials beautifully engraved. They are M.E.M. Initials are on the back and not visible when worn.

Overall very good condition considering it is over 100 years old. Estimated to date from 1890s. Metal is plated base metal or pinchbeck, not gold filled. Locket is unmarked.
