Antique Victorian Pinchbeck Hair Locket Pendant Necklace

Antique Hair Locket on Vintage Gold Filled Chain

Beautiful Antique Victorian Mourning Hair Locket was once a pin. It has been resurrected as a beautiful pendant and given a lovely thick vintage rope chain. It can be made into a pin/brooch again with the addition of a pin stem. The locket is pinchbeck, enameled and very nicely detailed featuring an oval art glass cabochon with flowers. The cabochon looks like Pietra Dura.

Locket measures 1 7/16" in diameter and is 8mm thick. Back is open with framed glass which appears to be original to the locket. It is in excellent condition with no missing enamel. It dates from around 1900s.

The chain is much newer than the locket and suits it well. It is gold filled, marked on the clasp area 14/20 for 14k Gold Filled. It measures 3mm thick and is 18" long. Chain is in excellent condition. Dates from the 1960s, maybe 1970s.

Overall weight is 24.1 grams.
