Fun - you can play dress up or incorporate into a modern wardrobe. It's always fun.

Quality - Many of the designers of Vintage Costume Jewelry started out as Fine Jewelers. Panetta was a master in Platinum and Alfred Philippe of Trifari had worked as Jeweler for Cartier.

Variety - There is a style for every mood and occasion, and many styles can be changed, parts can be added or taken away,. Coro Duettes are a perfect example of that. A pair of dress clips that becomes a brooch. How creative is that?

Green - If you like jewelry and live a green lifestyle, you can't go wrong with vintage jewels.

Price - although some rare pieces can go into thousands, there is no way you could by the quality, style, variety and design for the same price today.

Investment - if you know the trends you can make some pretty good investments, on occasion.

Darling vintage pave rhinestone strawberry shaped clip earrings by Trifari. Overall gold tone but prongs are white gold color, just like it would be in Fine Jewelry.  Each measure about 7/8" tall by 5/8" at the widest point. In good condition with the original rhinestones. Please keep in mind the rhinestones are as old as the earrings and will not be as bright as new ones. That's part of the charm of vintage costume jewelry!

Very nice pair of clip earrings shaped like flowers which are faux pearls. Made and signed by Tortolani in the 1960s. Clip earrings are in very good condition. Measurements are 1 1/2" tall by 13/16" at the widest point. The flowers seem to climb the earlobe, these are called climbers.

14k Gold Black Onyx Diamond Earrings Victorian Period Pierced Ears
Gorgeous Victorian Period 14k yellow gold earrings with marquise cut smooth Black Onyx and Diamond center. Setting is framed with 2 different sized rope trims. Earrings are for pierced ears and measure almost 1 1/8" long including the ear wires. They are almost 1/2" at the widest point. The pair weighs approximately 4.4 grams. They are not marked ( much of Victorian Fine Jewelry isn't) and were carefully tested to verify the content. in excellent condition.

Part of the group shown on the last photo, these were purchased from a wealthy Pennsylvania Estate. They are not exactly a set and also come from different time periods. The earrings and the ring are the oldest being Victorian Period. The bracelet is Art Deco and the pendant necklace is from the 60s.

Vintage 14k Yellow Gold (solid, not filled or plated) hoops with hand carved Celadon Jade fish charms. Carvings are amazing, all carved from a single piece, the bail is part of the same piece of Jade. Color is light green, not white.

Overall length is 2 1/4" , hoops are 5/8" in diameter, 1/8" thick. Each carving is 1 3/4" long. Charms can be moved to a chain or worn on another pair of hoops, if desired. Earrings are marked on the hoop and were tested to confirm gold content. Overall weight is 6.6 grams.
