Vintage Chromium Plated Art Deco Pendant Necklace with Large Marquise Faux Citrine
Beautiful early Art Deco filigree pendant necklace set with cut glass faux Citrine stone in a large Marquise shape. This style of jewelry was all the rage in the teens, 20's and through the 1930s as it was the perfect complement for flapper style dresses.
The metal is Chromium plated which gives it a "platinum look". It is a white metal, not quite like Sterling or Fine Silver and very elegant. The airy feels of the filigree is echoed in the "long and short" delicate chain, which is also Chromium plated. Chain closes with the old type of spring clasp, without the tab. Clasp works very well.
Pendant is 1 1/2" long by 5/8" at the widest point. The stone color is a rich golden shade of amber.
Chain is delicate, measures 20 1/2" long.
Both pendant and chain are in excellent vintage condition. Circa 1915 to 1925. A very similar pendant is featured on page 119 of the Art Deco section of Roseann Ettinger's book "Popular Jewelry, 1840-1940".
