Gorgeous Art Deco Retro Gas Pipe Necklace Gold Filled
Beautiful transitional Art Deco to Retro gold filled necklace by Plainville Stock Co of Plainville, MA who started producing jewelry around 1896 and is still in business to this date.
The necklace is wonderfully well made. The gas pipe (so called as it resembles well, a gas pipe) is 5/16" wide and 3/16" thick. It is also slightly elastic, it has give. It has a wearable length of 14 1/2", it is a choker length necklace.
The slider is 1 5/8" wide, actually a bit longer as it is curved, by almost 1" tall at the center. One of the bright Capri blue rhinestones is a replacement, all others are original. There are also incised stars on the slider, each adorned by a single clear rhinestone.
In wonderful vintage condition, it is marked "P.S. Co." on one side of the clasp and "1/20 10K GF" on the other. Clasp is built in and is hidden when the necklace is worn. The clasp works very well. Circa late 1930s to early 1940s.
