Vintage Carol Dauplaise Jewelry History
Carol Dauplaise worked for Miriam Haskell from 1959 until 1978, when she left to start her own jewelry company. Some sources mention that she actually never designed for Haskell, but rather filled other administrative duties.
Her company developed three distinctive collections over the years. A collection signed Carol Dauplaise, another signed Forte' starting in 1989 and Dauplaise II, a more affordable jewelry collection presented in 1990.
Michael Nash, owner of the fashion jewelry firm Nash & Nash, Ltd., closed his company and joined Carol Dauplaise, Ltd. as the designer for Forte in May 1989.
Carol Dauplaise and Ann Dube were partners in the company and in 1991 were joined by Ross Giattino.
Carol Dauplaise is still in business to this day.
