Beautiful antique Pietra Dura ink blotter from Germany. Measures 5 3/4" by 3 1/4" wide approximately. Very nice patterns with banded Jasper, Malachite, Black Onyx and Banded Agate mosaic. Also part of the mosaic is small stone plaque which reads "Frauzenshad". Inkblotter is in very good condition for it's age. There is a small hairline where the knuckle would apply pressure on the top due to regular use. No major issues, no missing pieces. The blotting paper has the vestige of the last time it was used. Wonderful uncommon piece for your collection or as a decorative accent for your desk.
Beautiful antique desk accessory, this Louisiana Purchase Exposition letter opener is from the St Louis World's Fair of 1904. Cast metal with gold tone or brass plating it has taken a gorgeous patina. Measures approximately 7 5/16" long. The Eagle is dimensional and the whole piece is detailed. In excellent condition with some loss of plating to the underside of the blade due to age and regular wear.
Beautiful vintage box probably made to hold cigarettes but it will hold small treasures just as well. The lid and sides are enamel on flower patterned Copper. Enamel is the most beautiful vivid shade of Royal Blue. Held by prongs on the lid is a scene of two scholars, seated at a table with accessories, being served dinner by a woman in traditional clothing. Very nicely done carving, it is done in bone and sectional. The three sections are then assembled as a small puzzle. It is also hand colored as in traditional Japanese carved Ivory. My feeling is that this is a piece from China and not Japan, hence the use of bone and not Ivory. Beautiful object, regardless.
Tooled leather Art Nouveau notepad cover containing the last notepad, note and pencil. The last note dates from November 17, 1932, but I believe the cover is older than that. Also included is the pencil, which looks original to the pad. Please note the wear on the pencil, the gild is gone in the center.
Beautiful figural antique Japanese Cloisonne box shaped like an eggplant or fruit. From the Estate of a local collector/dealer, dates from the Meiji Era (1868 to 1912).
