Exquisite Antique Emeralds and Rose Gold Victorian Stack Ring
Without doubt a very unusual style in 10k Rose Gold and natural Emeralds, this ring is actually a set of 5 individual rings designed and assembled to cover an entire section of your finger. The stones alternate between channel set inside a diamond shape and raised prong set to create a large diamond pattern. Very elegant, opulent and certainly unique mostly considering it dates from Victorian days. It is a difficult ring to photograph as it is so dynamic, it moves all the time when not in your hand. When worn, all the layers stack to perfection and the stones line up in their pattern beautifully.
The ring width at the front is 11/16". It tapers to the back where the elaborate attachment is located. They are permanently joined at the back, each ring is hinged to a chased Yellow Gold piece which measures 3/8" by almost 1/4". Two of the finishing touches are missing due to age and wear but it does not affect the functioning of the hinge design and is not obvious when worn.
Ring is size 5 US and in very good to excellent condition. One of the Emeralds has a small flaw, not obvious when worn. All the stones are natural, not lab created. The cut is quite old fashioned but that is part of the beauty and character of this very unusual ring.
Estimated to date from the 1880s, there are no maker's or quality marks. It was tested to determine gold content of 10k.
