Vintage Faux Gripoix Style Neon Colors Mod Pendant Necklace Brooch
Made to imitate Poured Glass or "Patte de Verre" each bright neon
color glass stone is trimmed in gold gilt then set into this huge
Maltese Cross shape. Reminiscent of styles made for the famous French
Fashion powerhouse by Gripoix, it is certain to turn heads. The pendant
is actually a brooch which has a built in hook bail on the back. The
gas pipe or snake chain is not original to the pendant brooch and it was
made by Monet. It is a marriage that works.
Measurements and condition details:
Brooch:
Overall size is 3 3/8" by 3 3/8". it is slightly curved and the stones
layered with a maximum depth of 3/8" at the center. It is in good to
excellent condition but there is one crack in one of the stones,
probably caused by excessive pressure on the bail which is right at the
back of that. Not obvious when worn, price adjusted to reflect this.
Brooch pendant is unsigned, maker unknown. Dates from the late 1960s to the early 70s.
Chain:
Slightly elastic gas pipe style chain measures 16 1/4" long, 3/16" wide
and 3mm thick at the center. Closes with a fold over clasp where the
Monet mark is. Excellent vintage condition.
All measurements are approximate.
