Hand Wrought Signed Vintage Mexican Sterling EarringsGorgeous larger size vintage Mexican Steling Silver
earrings are signed. These beauties are entirely hand made , each
element you see on the pattern is cut into the Sterling sheet by hand,
no machines were used as this is an older pair.
It
is composed of 2 conic forms that are joined at the rim. Signed on each
side drop itself , in a circle, "J U Hecho en Mexico DF" indicating it
was made in Mexico City. The mark is recognized in the "The Little Book
of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks" by Bille Hougart.
Earrings
are screw back and measure about 2 1/4" from the tip to the very bottom
and are almost 1" at the widest point. Hollow construction and since
they are signed on the drop and not the top, I am happy to change them
to a post for pierced ears upon request. In excellent vintage
condition, only one of the culs bends slightly inward. We took the
picture from an angle that would make it obvious but otherwise it is
barely noticeable. |
