Kay Denning jewelry is unmistakable. Her enameled Copper pieces are truly gorgeous and have a Mod and Modernist feel to them.

As an independent artisan and designer that appeared in the 60s, her style is a perfect reflection of that time. The 1960s brought a sort of Renaissance of the Arts and Crafts movement in America, fueled by a generation that wanted more than anything else independence from the grinding machine of the Establishment, an escape from the conformism of the 50s and a return to Nature. Kay Denning's jewelry is all of that and then some. She managed to re-invent the spare and austere geometric forms of the 50s Modern Movement by adding an organic feel to her designs.

Many of the styles in her collection display heavy glass shapes that when fired melt and loose the hard edges, a perfect reflection of the Philosophy of her earlier days. Some use clear glass and look like water forever captured into a soft geometry, many with colorful but subtle enameled backgrounds.

Her jewelry is highly collectible as it was never produced in large numbers. It is Artisan Jewelry at it's best and destined to be a classic for many decades to come.  She stopped production before 1980.
