Exquisitely Carved Pre Ban Ivory Mermaid Pendant

Outstanding detail on this beautiful dimensional mermaid pendant, it is simply gorgeous.  Pendant measures 2  7/8" long including the ring on the top but not the bail. Metal is Gold Filled.  The carving is fully dimensional, the mermaid has her hand raised to the ear as if listening to the ocean waves.

It is in wonderful vintage condition. Since the figure rests perfectly on a surface, I have a feeling the carving is quite old and was made into a pendant sometime around the 70s. There is an age line inherent to Ivory that runs vertically on her face.  It is part of the natural process of Ivory as it gets older. It is hard to see, you would need a jeweler's loupe with high magnification, 10x or 20x to see it.
