Vintage 1940's Sterling Glass Stones Ribbon Pin Chatelaine

Here is a very unusual, almost Modernist, ribbon pin with prong set glass paste stones at the center. It has a gold wash (Vermeil) but it is very light now. Measurements are 1 1/2" by 1 3/8" overall.

The center stones are glass, square cut and have no foil backing. They are prong set and rise above the pin.

Pin dates from the 1940's and is meant to be used as a chatelaine as well. One of the ribbons curls back to create a bail for a pocket watch or locket. It is in excellent vintage condition, the patina has been left as it is rich in color. Marked simply Sterling in the back.
