Amazing pair of earrings! So modern and yet so classic, great pair for an evening out or a modern bride.

They are also architectural, in the sense that they are hollow in the center. The form is created by stripes of metal bent at an angle midway and joined at the top and bottom. The front half features baguette shaped rhinestones in a channel setting, the back is Rhodium plated metal.

Designed by Alfred Philippe, patent number 174650, dated May 3, 1955. Somewhat of a departure from his signature classic and floral patterns, these are very Mid Century and Modern.

Each earring measures overall almost 2" in length. The drop alone is 1 1/4".

Earrings are clip backs, Rhodium plated and signed on the back of the clip itself. Also marked "Design Pat Pend" which makes these earrings c. 1954 before the patent was actually issued.

In excellent vintage condition.
