Avon

Avon started in the early portion of the the 20th Century but it wasn't until the mid 1960s that the first Jewelry Collection was launched. There is an incredible array of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pins, brooches, rings and other costume jewelry styles bearing the company's name.

Several well known designers have cooperated with Avon and created exclusive designs for the company. The list contains prestigious names such as Ferraud, Kenneth J Lane and Barrera. Most of these designs are clearly marked with the designer's name plus "for Avon", except for Ferraud whose jewelry collection for Avon is marked with his name in a circle surrounding the capital letter "A".

It is a little known fact, but Avon owned Tiffany (yes, Tiffany!) from 1979 to about 1984. (Many thanks to IllusionJewels.com for the information).

Pretty gold tone bracelet by Avon measures 11mm wide (a bit over 3/8") at the widest point and 7 1/4" long. Composed of alternating filigree scrolls and smooth highly polished diamond shapes, one set to a link.

Avon Jewelled Owl Modernist Pin Mint Original Box

This little owl is a real classic but you rarely see it in it's original box. This one is mint, never used. The perfume is in place but do not wear it. It's just too old. You can simply remove the solid perfume tray and dispose of it, wear the brooch as a locket by adding a picture where the perfume is now.
