Vintage compacts, carryalls, vanity cases, necessaires, minaudieres, cigarette cases and powder boxes from the 1890s to today. Made by Du Barry, Richard Hudnut, Elgin, Coty, Dunhill, Elizabeth Arden, Houbigant, Revlon, K&K (Kopler & Kopet), Kerkoff, Djer Kiss, Avon, Stratton and others, including unsigned beauties. These little jewels of design, engineering and craftsmanship are made in materials ranging from paper and tin to solid Gold and Sterling Silver.
Whether whimsical or glamorous, compacts have been a reflection of a woman's style, personality, status and of her time. The compacts we offer here are clean, some have not been used, some will be in their original boxes and a few will be presented as they are a rare glimpse of the period in which they were created. Absolutely all are highly collectible and sought after. Several have been featured in books for collectors.
