Vogue Triple Strand Necklace Earrings Demi Parure Set
Rare signed Vogue 1950's demi parure (two piece set) in "Givre" Glass
in the most beautiful pink/clear art glass! The necklace has three strands in graduated lengths and
each bead is knotted. It measures 15" plus a 2 1/2" extender.
Each of the three strands has a different size combination for the beads
and overall have a graduated size appearance. The shortest strand
measures 14" long, the middle one is 16 1/2" long and the longest one
is 19" long. The smallest bead is 5mm and the largest is 12mm placed on
the center of the longest strand.
Earrings are clip and measure 5/8" in diameter. They are a single large
pink/clear "givre" glass cabochon and set on fancy prongs in silver
plated metal. They are clips and there is a slight loss of the silver
on the back of one of the pair as you can see in the pictures. Other
than that this set is in perfect condition. Signed Vogue on the
earrings. Some of the necklaces are unsigned because the clap design,
this is one of them.
One of
the founders of Vogue Jewelry was Howard Shapiro whose son, Bernard
Shapiro, founded Les Bernard with partner Lester Joy (hence the name
Les Bernard) in 1963 after his father left Vogue in 1961. Vogue jewelry
is quite scarce in today's market. This is a gorgeous and very wearable
example of the beautiful styles they produced.
